Care December Journal Flip-through

Did you do Care December with @EverythingArt ? It's a beautiful journal offering by Kasia Avery and guests that I love to do every year. I get to take off my teacher hat, play and be a curious artist in my studio at a time of year that I need self-care. This year my journal colour scheme was black, white, blue-purple and gold. I focused on keeping it super simple so that I'd encourage myself to keep showing up each day.

Do you want to care for yourself and your creativity for all of 2023? Join Kasia and wonderful group of guest teachers (including me!) for Wanderlust 2023, a year-long mixed media art journaling adventure. Nicole Warrington

I am an artist and educator on Vancouver Island, Canada. My art is deeply inspired by my connection to the landscape and the natural world. I am passionate about using creativity as a practice in mindfulness and self-care. Creativity has been an important part of my healing process during different phases of my life, including my ongoing recovery from a brain injury in 2022.

Trained in Fine Arts, Art History, and Elementary Education, I love teaching watercolour and journaling to local and international communities. I currently host an online art membership called The Calm Waters Collective, where we paint, journal and connect with each other through lessons and live calls. I also enjoy trail running, backpacking, skiing, and yoga, and exploring the island with my husband and two daughters.
