Landscape Sketching from Imagination

Watch this 2 minute process video where I use watercolour, Inktense Pencils, and watercolour pencil crayons in a Stillman and Birn brown-toned sketchbook. I work from my imagination/memory, inspired by the rivers that flow into the sea from the mountains here on Vancouver Island.

Nicole Warrington

I am an artist and educator on Vancouver Island, Canada. My art is deeply inspired by my connection to the landscape and the natural world. I am passionate about using creativity as a practice in mindfulness and self-care. Creativity has been an important part of my healing process during different phases of my life, including my ongoing recovery from a brain injury in 2022.

Trained in Fine Arts, Art History, and Elementary Education, I love teaching watercolour and journaling to local and international communities. I currently host an online art membership called The Calm Waters Collective, where we paint, journal and connect with each other through lessons and live calls. I also enjoy trail running, backpacking, skiing, and yoga, and exploring the island with my husband and two daughters.
