A day that begins with focus or intention can unfold in inspiring ways, opening us to new ideas, experiences, and ways of thinking.

Ebb & Flow Wisdom Cards

for Journaling

I designed these prompt cards for you to use in the morning to guide and focus your intentions for the day, or in the evening to reflect on your day. Daily or weekly you can draw a card at random or choose one the speaks to you.

Use your cards for art journaling, to write a poem, to prompt an email to a loved one, or to inspire an act of kindness during your day. Be creative with them!

If you still need to download your set of printable cards, you can find the link on the button below.

Art journaling with a prompt

I love using prompts to inspire my art journaling sessions. A question can focus my attention but there is still so much freedom to explore as I journal and my page unfolds. When I’m journaling, I try to let my intuitive voice lead the way in both my writing and artistic expression. While I keep design elements and principles like colour, pattern, balance, contrast, and rhythm in the back of my mind, I lead with words, colours and marks that feel right for that moment. I encourage you to do the same. There is no ‘right’ way; the process of journaling should serve your soul.

In this watercolour and mixed media process video, I choose one of the Ebb & Flow Wisdom Cards and share with you my journaling. I hope you enjoy it and that you’ll feel inspired to use your cards too. You can find the supplies list at the bottom of this page.

I would love to see what you create. Pop into our community to show us a picture of your journal, or tag me in your post (@coastalnicole) on Instagram.
